Sixth Nuplace site launched – offering affordable homes in Newport
Located in the historic market town of Newport, Springfields is the sixth Nuplace development and will offer 33 two and three homes, as well as two bedroom apartments for affordable rent.
The Newport development is offering homes at affordable rents for those who can’t afford higher market rents in the area. Anyone wishing to rent one of the Nuplace homes at Springfields must demonstrate a clear housing need and a local connection to Newport.
Springfields is being built by Nuplace’s construction partner Lovell, who developed sites in Randlay and Madeley and are currently working on the other sites in Dawley, Madeley and Hadley.
The announcement of the Newport development comes hot on the heels of the launch of the fifth site, Blossom Walk in Hadley, which will offer 25 new homes.
Work is also continuing at Miner’s Walk in Madeley and The Oaklands in Dawley, with eight properties already complete and let ahead of schedule, bringing the total number of Nuplace rental homes to 290.
At The Oaklands and Miners Walk more than half of the plots have already been reserved off plan.
Councillor Richard Overton, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Housing, said: “We’re really pleased to announce the latest Nuplace development and to be bringing quality affordable rental homes to Newport, one of the least affordable parts of the borough.
“Nuplace has been a great success so far with the early developments fully let and many of the homes currently being built, already reserved.”
Properties at Springfields in Newport will be ready for tenants to move into from spring 2018. More information can be found here.
