Telford and Wrekin Leisure has launched a new webpage which brings together all of its Summer Holiday activities for parents looking for a one stop source of information to entertain the kids this summer.

There are a wide variety of activities throughout the summer for the whole family and even activities designed just for kids so you don’t have to worry about keeping them entertained every day. 

Glide over to Telford Ice Rink for the holiday skateathon sessions taking place from 10.30am every day granting customers up to 5 hours of public skating time for one great price. 

Ice skating membership packages are readily available to take out over the summer. Our packages are fantastic for regular skaters with access to unlimited public skating you can skate day and night. Giving you fantastic brilliant value for money this also includes special events such as our weekly disco sessions with resident DJ Paul Shuttleworth.

Telford Ice Rink plays host to a number of brand new special events this summer including a silent disco a new experience at Telford Ice Rink - it’s a Friday disco with a huge twist! There’s no music…that is until you put on a pair of the provided headsets*. 

The ever popular foam parties return and there’s an event designed to be a Cosplayers dream aptly named Superhero’s on Ice where skaters get 50% off entry for turning up in costume.

Families can join us for our first skate and paint session where young children are encouraged to skate and draw their favourite pictures on the ice pad using our special paint pens. 

Families can enjoy an exhilarating experience down at Telford Snowboard and Ski Centre with Family Adrenaline tubing sessions running daily. Slide Spin and Whizz your way down the main slope on our inflatable rubber tubes.

Footgolf – a combination of football and golf - at Horsehay Village Golf Centre is perfect for all the family and there are packages to play and include lunch too!

If you fancy a dip Telford and Wrekin resident’s under 16s get free public swimming with a valid TLC card at all four of our swimming pools. 

There are plenty of other activities taking place across the seven Leisure centres this summer including the return of the immensely popular ‘Kids for £1’ programme. 

In partnership with RICOH UK Products Ltd, Telford & Wrekin Council will offer selected holiday activities to children and young people who have a Telford Loyalty Card (TLC) for just £1 each.

The Council’s leisure facilities have a full programme of activities during the holiday (Monday 24 July – Sunday 3 September).

There is a whole host of different activities, for all abilities, tastes and ages, ranging from BMX and badminton to mini water polo and the driving range.

Swimming, skiing and ice skating crash courses will also be on offer over the week providing the opportunity for some intensive tuition to learn and improve skills.

Booking in advance (where applicable) is advised so that sessions can be planned according to numbers attending and to avoid any disappointment. 

Councillor John Minor, cabinet member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: “I am pleased that RICOH continues to support kids for £1 and together we can offer a wide range of activities. 

“Our holiday activity programme has something for everyone. If you are looking for something completely different to try during the school holidays you are in the right place.

“This is the first summer that Footgolf at Horsehay Village Golf Centre has been available and it’s a great excuse to get out and about whatever the weather.

“The Paint and Skate and Superhero’s on Ice sessions at Telford Ice Rink during August will make a fantastic addition what is hopefully a busy fun packed period for children.”
