First tenants move into Nuplace homes at Dawley site
The first tenants have begun moving into their Nuplace homes at The Oaklands in Dawley, two months ahead of schedule.
The Oaklands features 91 two and three bedroomhomes. Nuplace will privately rent out 47 two and three bedroom homes and theremaining 44 two and three bedroom homes will be sold on the open market byLovell.
Properties were originally planned to be availablefrom this summer but three houses at the site are already occupied.
The first couple, Jackie and Mitch have been intheir new Nuplace home for (since 28 April). They said:
“We have been in for a few days now and we love it. Itfeels spacious light and airy and a real pleasure to be home. We are off to agreat start in our fabulous new home.”
Last week, Sam and Michael (pictured) moved into theirfirst home together at The Oaklands site. After living with Sam’s mum theyfinally have a place of their own – although her mum will soon be theirneighbor when she moves into her new home on the site, bought from Lovell.
The couple said they were attracted to Nuplacebecause it offered them long term security, as well as a brand new house.
The Oaklands is the third Nuplace site to be broughtforward following Pool View in Randlay and Woodland Walk in Madeley, which areboth now fully let.
Phase 2 will also include a site at Miners Walk in Madeleywhere building work has begun, as well as a further two sites at Hadley andNewport.

Nuplace is a commercial company set upby Telford & Wrekin Council limited by shares and established to developand manage a programme of 400 market rental properties.
It has the aim of supporting social andeconomic regeneration, addressing a shortfall in providing quality homes in therental market and generating revenue to protect frontline council services.
