Surface dressing to upgrade Ironbridge's roads
Extensive surface dressing work is taking place on the main thoroughfares through Ironbridge this week as part of Telford & Wrekin Council’s Pride In Your Community programme of environmental improvements.
TheWharfage, Tontine Hill and High Street will all have their surfaces upgradedwith preparation work completed yesterday. (Mon)
Initialapplication of surface dressing takes place during Tuesday with stop and gotraffic management and restrictions on parking.
Wednesdayto Friday will be a bedding in period with loose chippings on the road and theaffected surfaces being swept. The site will have no road markings or conesduring this period.
Fridaywill see a finished surface being laid down. No waiting cones will be put outto restrict parking.
Next weekwill see the double yellow lines and on street parking bays being re-marked.
DuringJune, traffic counts will be carried out to assess vehicle speeds through thesite and carriageway patching works will be completed on Dale End roundaboutwith resurfacing works to the zebra crossing.
Elsewherein the Ironbridge Gorge, surface dressing will be completed at The Lloyds andCoalport High Street during the course of this week, which will require a roadclosure. Road markings will be replaced next week.
Surfacedressing will also be carried on Wednesday/Thursday between the B4373 and theIronbridge Road junction under stop and go traffic management. The finishedsurface will be installed by the end of next week with road markings reinstatedthe week after that.
