A442 Spring Clean to start on 2 May
The first spring clean of the A442 Queensway this year starts on May 2 for a period of two weeks.
It will see planned maintenance works taking place in a safe controlled way which causes the minimum of disruption to motorists.
Tasks being carried out to improve the environment around Telford’s major north-south trunk road include grass cutting, strimming, litter picking, cutting back vegetation and inspecting trees and structures for the main work during the July closure.
The spring clean starting on May 2 involves lane closures on the A442 Queensway and is primarily focused on grounds and cleansing operations.
Angie Astley, Telford & Wrekin Council’s assistant director for Neighbourhood & Customer Services, said: “We are carrying out this work in response to requests from businesses, parishes and residents of the borough.
“It is all part of ensuring Telford is a destination of choice for being a great place to live, work and visit.
“Our aim is to maintain a clean and tidy environment along our key north to south trunk road and helps to encourage repeat business and leisure tourism.”
