Save costs by getting your Council Tax bill on email
Residents in Telford and Wrekin are being reminded that they have until this Thursday to sign up to get their Council Tax bill sent to them direct by email.
Telford & Wrekin Council is asking residents to go online and register for the service, which is a faster and more efficient way for them to receive their annual bill. E-billing also saves the authority time, paper, printing and postage costs.
Residents who sign up by Thursday 2 March will get their next bill, due out in the next two weeks, emailed direct to their preferred email address. Anyone who misses the Thursday deadline can still sign up, but they will receive this year’s bill in paper format and all future bills by email.
Councillor Lee Carter, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Finance, Partnerships and Commercial Services, said: “Residents are used to receiving bills from other organisations like utilities by email and we offer the same service for Council Tax bills.
“We currently spend around £20,000 in postage costs alone, money which could be better spent protecting frontline services.
“E-billing also means residents can view their bill as soon as it is available and as often as they like, plus they will always know where it is!”
