Temporary four way traffic lights will be operational on the Shawbirch Roundabout from Monday 5 December until Friday December 23.
Road reconstruction works will take place and this will cause unavoidable delays at the roundabout this period.
It is taking place in the build up to Christmas to avoid clashing with work on Ketley Brook roundabout, which starts on January 3.
Following the Christmas and New Year break, the council’s contractor will then concentrate on completing the final surfacing for the roundabout during January with all work expected to be finished by the end of January.
Councillor Angela McClements, cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services, said: “We know this will cause disruption and delays and I would like to thank everyone who uses the roundabout for their patience and understanding in advance.
“It is imperative that we avoid having lights at Shawbirch at the same time as the works get under way at Ketley Brook which is why we are doing this work in the build up to Christmas.”
Shawbirch Roundabout is one of six roundabouts that are being upgraded across the borough as part of the Telford Growth Point package.
This is funded by a combination of Marches Local Enterprise Partnership funding and Section 106 contributions from developers.
It is aimed at improving capacity to ensure the road network is capable of coping with anticipated increases in traffic levels as a result of significant inward investment.
