Telford Ice Rink celebrates birthday
Telford Ice Rink celebrates its 32nd birthday this weekend and to mark the occasion there’s some extra special activities taking place.
Come along to the ice rink on Saturday from 1-3pm or on Sunday from 1-3pm or 3.30-5pm and show off your skating skills, or best poses to the camera and be seen on the big screen.
Or why not take part in Sumo Suit racing on ice! Falling over on the ice will be a whole new experience in these suits as participants race around the ice trying to beat each other while remaining upright.
But don’t worry about the falling, it’s not going to hurt!
In addition, exclusively during Saturday’s session come along and join in with sing-a-long on ice, where singing along to the music is positively encouraged.
Don’t worry there will be still be plenty of singing to be done on Sunday as resident DJ Paul Shuttleworth takes to the decks to provide a quality soundtrack to accompany every skater and spectator.
Councillor Richard Overton, cabinet member for Housing, Leisure and Health, said: “Telford Ice Rink is 32 years old this weekend, and still today it remains a popular destination for both locals and visitors from further afield.
“We’re really proud of the facilities and have lots going on throughout the year to appeal to visitors of all ages and abilities so come along this weekend and help celebrate the ice rink’s birthday.”
