Telford & Wrekin Council’s housing investment programme has passed a major milestone – with the full completion of Nuplace’s first site.
Pool View at Randlay has seen 31 desirable homes built by contractors Lovell on the edge of Telford Town Park and all homes are now completed and fully let.
Nuplace has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from tenants, both about the process of applying and the properties themselves.
Work is still continuing on the other development at Woodland Walk in Madeley, with only 16 of the 101 properties still available. Remaining plots are the Abbeywood and Dalwood house types and more information is available at www.nuplace.co.uk.
Nuplace, which is a wholly owned company of the Council, will be starting construction of new homes on the next two sites in the programme very soon.
Building at The Oaklands in Matlock Avenue in Dawley and in Madeley Court will commence in the Autumn with two further sites at Hadley and Newportstarting in the new year, subject to planning approval.
Matlock Avenue will feature 91 two and three bedroom homes. Some of these will be sold on the open market with the rest available for private rent.
Councillor Richard Overton, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Housing, said: “It is fantastic that our first site is now fully completed and all 31 properties are reserved.
“Nuplace is already an unqualified success and is a prime example of the council’s focus on finding new income streams and becoming less reliant on central government funding.
“I look forward to more positive news moving forward as the Woodland Walk site becomes close to being fully reserved and work begins on the construction of the next sites.”
