Summer of fun continues with ‘Telfood’ – Telford’s first ever food festival
After the 'Carnival of Giants', Telford Town Park’s QEII Arena is getting ready for its next big summer event.
With more than 130 of the very best artisan producers from across the region attending, ‘Telfood’ on 30 and 31 July is promising a world of cuisine, from American BBQ to Polish snacks, South African biltong to French street food.
All the food producers you’ll see at ‘Telfood’ source local ingredients for the dishes they passionately create. All the traders you’ll meet at ‘Telfood’ are from Shropshire.
As well as all the gorgeous food and drink to sample, there will be live demonstrations and talks from top chefs, live music and entertainment to enjoy and lots of fun activities for the kids from children’s cookery classes to go karting, circus skills to bug eating!
Beth Heath, the creator of ‘Telfood’ festival, said: “There is a lot of great food in Telford and this festival is all about celebrating that. ‘Telfood’ will show off the great producers, food shops, farm shops and restaurants that we have here. ‘Telfood’ will put Telford on the foodie map!”
Councillor Liz Clare, cabinet member for culture, sports, parks & green spaces said: “Our Carnival of Giants was a great success with 12,000 people visiting from all over the country. We hope to see our Town Park as vibrant again for ‘Telfood’; a great new event for Telford which promises to be a feast for all tastes at a very reasonable price. It is the latest in a series of forthcoming summer events which will include T-Picnic Day and the Telford Kite Festival proving what an exciting place this borough now is.”
