Delbag Singh Fagura, of Clifton  Road, Wolverhampton, was convicted of nine building regulation offences and one charge of failing to disclose information as required by law to the Council.

The offences relate to a six flat property Mr Singh Fagura rents in Dudmaston, Hollinswood, and followed an inspection by the Council’s building regulation team.

Mr Singh Fagura had denied the charges at an earlier hearing at Telford Magistrates Court but was found guilty yesterday (16 June) of all offences by magistrates.

The building regulation offences included a number of breaches of fire precautions at the Dudmaston property. The court also heard that he had failed to respond to Council requests to establish ownership of the property.

For the 10 offences, the court fined Mr Singh Fagura £3,000. He was also ordered to pay £6,000 in legal costs to the Council and a £200 victim surcharge.
