Prospective tenants on the look out for brand new rental properties are being encouraged to book a slot at Nuplace’s first “drop in” style open day on Saturday 14 May.
The event gives people the chance to come and take a look around two of the brand new Nuplace homes that are being built at Woodland Walk in Madeley.
The “Abbeywood” and “Dalwood” style homes are both three bedroom properties and are available to move into from Wednesday 18 May, subject to checks.
Appointments are limited and must be booked in advance by calling 01952 384222. Nuplace is the council’s housing investment programme that is building quality properties for private rental.
The first Nuplace development at Pool View in Randlay is fully let and properties at Woodland Walk are going fast.
Planning has already been approved for the first Phase Two site at Matlock Avenue in Dawley. An application for a site at Madeley Court will go to Telford & Wrekin Council’s Planning Committee on May 18.
Applications are also due to be submitted in the next couple of weeks for sites in Newport and Hadley.
Councillor Shaun Davies, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Customer Services, said: “This is a great opportunity for people looking to rent a new home to see first hand the quality of property that Nuplace is offering and I am sure there will be lots of interest.”
Councillor Richard Overton, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Housing, said: “Nuplace was established last summer as a commercial company set up to develop and manage a programme of 400 market rental properties.
“It has the aim of supporting social and economic regeneration, addressing a shortfall in providing quality homes in the rental market and generating revenue to protect frontline council services.
“People can make enquiries via firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01952 384222 or find out more by visiting www.nuplace.co.uk and looking at the tenant portal.”
