Lots of fun at Telford Town Park this holiday
There’s still more than a week left of the school holidays, but if the chocolate is starting to run low and the children are getting bored, why not get along to Telford Town Park.
As well as the all year round fun to be had at the park, there’s some great activities taking place that will be perfect to keep the children occupied and take advantage of the spring weather that is making an appearance.
Spring into the Park is taking place tomorrow (2 APR) from 11am-4pm. The event is free to attend (with some activities incurring a charge) and there will be lots for the whole family to enjoy. Got a Thomas the Tank Engine fan, then come and meet the steam train himself and the very dapper Fat Controller.
There is too much going on at Spring into the Park to list meaning the best way to find out more is by gathering family or friends together and turning up tomorrow.
There’s plenty of activities next week too. Fancy taking part in an orienteering session? On Tuesday 5 April teams will use maps to find posts around the Park’s orienteering course. It costs just £5 for a team and takes place at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, taking around 1.5 hours to complete.
Or why not take part in the heritage trail guided walk on Thursday (7 APR) at 11am. For just £2 per person or £5 for a family, this approximately two hour walk will follow the heritage trail, stopping off at various points and showcasing some of the artefacts that have been found during local archaeological digs.
For those feeling a little bit crafty, the bug house workshop on Friday (8 APR) from 1-3pm will be ideal. For £10 per bug house, children will be able to create and make their very own bug house to take home and use.
Councillor Liz Clare, cabinet member for Leisure Service and Culture, said: “Our park continues to be a fantastic destination for both residents and visitors to enjoy a day out.
“One of the reasons why Telford Town Park is so successful is the programme of events that runs throughout the year, especially during the holidays where activities are held to encourage children to come and enjoy the great outdoors and learn more about the park and nature.”
Spaces for all events are limited so booking is required, and children must be accompanied by an adult . To find out more about any of the events and how to book visit www.telfordtownpark.co.uk email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01952 382340.
