Tenants tell of Nuplace "dream home"

The first tenants to move into the completed Nuplace development in Randlay say they love the location on the edge of Telford Town Park.

Tenants tell of Nuplace "dream home"
Michael and Irene Kelly first found out about the Pool View development in Randlay when they read the most recent issue of the council’s magazine Your Voice.

They had lived in private rented accommodation elsewhere in the borough for the past nine years but had no doubt they had found their dream home after looking round the 2 bedroom house.

“From the outset, the team in the Nuplace office has been brilliant and the process has been so smooth,” said Mr Kelly.

“We have been kept informed from start to finish and that has only added to our excitement of moving in.”

Irene works in Telford Town Centre so Pool View’s close proximity to both that and the Town Park is ideal for the Kellys.

“We can’t wait to walk to Telford Town Park on a Sunday to watch our grandson play rugby with his local team,” said Irene.

The couple are also delighted with their new home and having the council as their landlord.

“The layout of the house is exactly what we had in mind, especially having a downstairs toilet. Also an ensuite bathroom in a two bedroom property is unheard of but will come in very useful when our grandchildren visit,” said Michael.

“For years we have rented from a private landlord but there is always the uncertainty around selling up and having to move home. We now have so much more security and are confident any maintenance issues will be fixed quickly.

“We would advise anyone thinking about renting in Telford & Wrekin  to just send in their application form to Nuplace. It was completed quickly and now we are moving into a brand new home so it is definitely worth it.”

Nuplace is a commercial company set up by Telford & Wrekin Council limited by shares and established to develop and manage a programme of 400 market rental properties.

It has the aim of supporting social and economic regeneration, addressing a shortfall in providing quality homes in the rental market and generating revenue to protect frontline council services.

Councillor Richard Overton, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Housing, said: “I am delighted that Mr and Mrs Kelly are looking forward to live at Pool View in Randlay and I would agree its an excellent location.

“All the properties there are now let but we still have availability at the second Nuplace site at Woodland Walk in Madeley. People can make enquiries via info@nuplace.co.uk or call 01952 384222.”
