Telford and Wrekin Libraries will be celebrating National Libraries Day on Saturday (FEB 6) at Southwater Library.

The library service is promising a day of fun for all the family with events running from 10am to 3.30pm.

People attending the library will be given the chance to programme Mirobot – a brand new DIY wifi robot that was launched last year.

Staff will also be available throughout the day to show people how to download an e-magazine and also help them to use other digital resources.

Storytelling times are also happening at the library both morning and afternoon.

Councillor Liz Clare, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Libraries, said: “National Libraries Day is an annual event that is celebrated by libraries all over the country and I am delighted that Telford is joining in on Saturday.

“I am sure that everyone who goes to the Southwater Library on Saturday will enjoy the events that are on offer.”

People are also being invited to tell us what they love about their library. This can be done on twitter by using the hashtag #librariesday
