Five days left to vote for Town Park
There is only five days left to vote for Telford Town Park to win the Fields in Trust UK’s Best Park Award.
The Fields in Trust Awards have been running since 2012 and celebrate the contributions and achievements of partner parks. Now the Trust is giving the public the chance to get involved and vote for their favourite park.
Telford Town Park has already been named one of the top twenty parks in the country via a Keep Britain tidy campaign after the Park achieved Green Flag Award earlier this year.
Nominations are open now for the UK’s Best Park and Telford Town Park is on the list. Voting has opened.
Councillor Liz Clare, cabinet member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: “We’re very proud of Telford Town Park and how much it has developed over the past few years.
“We have so much green space in Telford and Wrekin and Telford Town Park is the jewel in our crown with more than 180 hectares of space. The staff work so hard to maintain the facilities for members of the public to enjoy.
“I hope that everyone who uses the Park will take the time to vote for it before the deadline of 5pm on November 25 – it would be great to have that recognition from the people who use it and enjoy it.”
The deadline for votes is 25 November.
In the meantime, residents and visitors can share their favourite photos of Telford Town Park so people can see just how beautiful the park is and why it fully deserves its place as one of the best in the UK. Post your picture on Twitter @TelfordTownPark #loveparks
