Town Park litter pick as part of Give & Gain Day
Around 70 workers from technology firm Capgemini are doing a litter pick in Telford Town Park tomorrow as part of Give & Gain Day – the UK’s only national employee volunteering day.
The litter pick will take place during the workers' lunch break and they will split into two groups, the first doing the clean up between 12-1pm and the second between 1-2pm.
The litter pick also fits in with their health and wellbeing campaign as it will also mean they are in the fresh air and keeping active.
Councillor Shaun Davies, cabinet member for Co-operative Council and Partnership, said: "The Town Park is one of Telford 's biggest assets and is enjoyed by many thousands of people every year.
"It is fantastic to see that it is treasured by those who work in the Town Centre and this litter pick is an excellent example of the superb work done by volunteers across the borough of Telford and Wrekin.
"I would like to commend Capgemini's workers on their commitment to improving the environment of the Town Park ."
Last year's Give and Gain Day saw 6,803 workers nationwide spending £1m worth of man hours into the communities most in need, which benefited 55,000 individuals.
