New website to offer access to personal support
Telford & Wrekin Council’s Adult Social Services is launching a new website to help adults and young people with care needs in the borough find the support they need to stay in their own home.
The Council is keen to provide adults and young people in the borough with the support to live their lives as they choose, so that individuals can maintain their independence and dignity.
There are lots of ways that people in Telford and Wrekin can have help for them to live as independently as possible for longer in their own homes.
One of these is that they may choose to employ a Personal Assistant who can provide the care and support that they need when they need it.
The aim of the new website, Telford Personal Assistants, is to make it easier to find Personal Assistants and for Personal Assistants to advertise their skills and availability, creating a more productive and streamlined service.
Councillor Arnold England, cabinet member for adult social care, said: “We want to make sure that those people in the borough who need care and support have the choice and control to live their lives as they wish and to be able to help themselves.
“A personal assistant can offer support to those who need it in their daily living, from help with bathing or toileting to assistance with shopping, household tasks and visiting social activities.
“This new website will allow more variety and flexibility for those that need help with daily living and allow them to make that choice for themselves.”
The Council is currently looking for people to register as Personal Assistants on the new website.
Anyone who wants to register can connect today on the Telford Personal Assistants website.
