Council seeks quotes for Boyzone gig services
Telford & Wrekin Council calling for quotes for a range of services for the Boyzone concert in the QEII Fields In Trust Town Park Arena on Saturday 27 June.
Details of the three opportunities are on the council’s website at www.telford.gov.uk/tenders
The council requires security for the event based on 6,000 people to include bag searches, front of stage, back of stage and on stage.
Security is required from Thursday 25 June to Sunday 28 June to include set up security on Friday.
The council also requires a company to provide 300 low level crowd barriers and portable toilets. A third quote is for provision of a first aid service.
Councillor Shaun Davies, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet lead for Commercial Projects, said: “We have been delighted at the response from the public to the announcement of Boyzone as Telford’s major gig for 2015.
“Tickets have been selling like hot cakes and we are now tendering for the various services we require to put on a successful event.
“Companies have until Monday 9 March to submit a tender and we look forward to receiving quotes.
“We are more than happy to look at sponsorship opportunities for any local companies that would be prepared to offer any of the required services free of charge for association with this prestigious event.”
Fans can take advantage of an early bird offer of £25 and Telford Loyalty Card holders can get this price with a free ticket for young people aged 16 and under thrown in, although this offer is not available online.
Tickets can be bought via www.theplacetelford.com or by calling the Boyzone box office on 01952 382382 or in person at Oakengates Theatre @ The Place and the Southwater One community building. The Telford Loyalty Card early bird offer lasts until the end of April.
