T-Party set to fill Town Park with arts and culture
Telford Town Park will be filled with an extravaganza of arts and culture on Saturday July 18 when the third annual T-Party event takes place.
T-Party will feature arts, crafts, music, street theatre, poetry, storytelling, acrobatics, puppetry, sports and leisure activities, and food and craft markets.
The free cultural event will have a sports theme this year including street artists and sport inspired arts activities, have a go sports and recreational activities including tobogganing, golf, football, tag, rugby, dance, pond dipping, bikes, cycling, heritage and walking trails .
There will also be performances of dance and music on a purpose built stage throughout the day , markets and food concessions in the park and at Southwater, and activities in Southwater One such as arts and crafts and storytelling and music on the library terrace.
Councillor Liz Clare, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: "This is yet another example of the fantastic range of events we are now able to put on in Telford.
"The rejuvenated Town Park with new leisure facilities combined with the £250m Southwater development on the edge of the Shopping Centre has given us a lot more options.
"We are passionate about positioning Telford as a regional destination of choice and whether it is a major concert like the Boyzone gig on Saturday 27 June or a free arts event like T-Party on Saturday July 18, Telford is the place to be."
