Pool of creative people sought for Southwater events

The Arts and Culture service is looking to develop the cultural identity in the town centre, after a successful year of events and workshops in the new Southwater development.

The Southwater development in the town centre has created the ideal space for hosting activities and performances.

The Arts and Culture service is looking for local artist’s teams or individuals with the skills to run exciting workshops in a community context or provide entertainment.

Psyche Hudson, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Arts and Culture Manager, said: “We see this as a fantastic opportunity for our local creative talent to get pro-actively involved with developing the new cultural phase of the Southwater development.

“We know that we have a wealth of artistic talent in our area and we would welcome their innovation and fresh approaches.”

Entertainment and workshops could include street art, visual arts and crafts, music, dance, theatre or something completely different. It could be a single or series of events or participatory workshops.

Those applying should be available to provide a programme of activities throughout all the school holidays.
