Have your say on election day
Tomorrow is Election Day in Telford and Wrekin, with voters deciding who will represent them in Parliament, on Telford & Wrekin Council, and on their local Town or Parish Council.
36,500 people applied for a postal vote and over 22,000 of postal voters have already cast their vote this way.
Anyone choosing to vote in the traditional way can visit their local polling station, which will be open across the borough until 10pm tomorrow.
Returning Officer, Richard Partington, said: "Local councillors make vital decisions affecting communities and families across the borough.
"Decisions about education, roads and transport, activities for teenagers, care of the elderly and vulnerable and waste disposal are all the responsibility of your local councillors.
"If you haven’t already voted by post, I’d encourage local people to take 10 minutes out of their busy schedules to visit a polling station today to cast their vote."
Polls close at 10pm tomorrow evening and election results will be available on the Council’s website at www.telford.gov.uk/elections as soon as these happen, and will be also be posted live via the Council’s Twitter feed @TelfordWrekin, using #TWelections.
Parliamentary results for the Telford and Wrekin constituencies are expected by around 3.30am on 8 May. Telford & Wrekin Council election results are expected to be known by mid-afternoon on Friday 8 May.
