Telford & Wrekin Council has announced the winners of its Pride In Your Community photo competition (see attached).

The photo competition was open to all borough residents who were encouraged to capture moments of spring on camera – with the chance of winning a range of prizes.

Nearly 100 photographs were submitted for the competition, which had two categories, one for juniors and one for those aged 16 and over. 

Residents were asked to photograph anything that gave them pride in their town.

The winners of the Juniors’ competition were:

· 1st prize of an annual passport Ironbridge Gorge museums went to Katie Wilson

· 2nd prize of a family ice skating pass went to Jacob Price

· 3rd prize of an inflatables session went to Jack Turner

The winners of the Adults’ competition were:

· 1st prize of a three-month Aspirations gym membership and Demon Barber theatre tickets went to Tim Finch

· 2nd prize of a swim pass and Demon Barber theatre tickets went to Helen Smedley

· 3rd prize of an aerobics pass and Energize sessions went to Lynsey Collins

Angie Astley, Telford & Wrekin Council Assistant Director for Neighbourhood and Customer Services, said: “We wanted people to show us the pride they have in their borough and to help us promote some of the beautiful sights we have.

“Our Pride In Your Community programme has been a big success with lots of positive outcomes.”
