It’s time to Get Involved

This summer the Pride in Your Community teams are asking for more people to take some pride in where they live and Get Involved in their community.

It’s time to Get Involved

Get Involved is about making residents aware of the many opportunities to get involved in their neighbourhoods in some very simple ways or suggest new ways that people can come together to make their area even better.

There are many different ways that people can do this through the Council’s Pride in Your Community programme and help make a difference to the borough.

Pride in Your Community ‘Get Involved’ is all about encouraging residents to get more involved in their community however they want to do so.  This can be as little as picking up after their dog or reporting some graffiti to hiring some tools and creating a vegetable plot for themselves and their neighbours.

The Council-run community centres in Arleston, Brookside, Donnington and Sutton Hill are ready with advice, equipment for litter picks, tool hire libraries, wild flower seeds, poop scoop bags and much more.

One simple way to Get Involved is to download the free Everyday Telford app and report any problems – from graffiti and pot holes to fly tipping and any faulty street lights. Reporting problems is quick, easy and can make a real difference.

Cllr Shaun Davies cabinet member for Business, Neighbourhoods and Customer Services, said: “We want as many people as possible to get involved in our Pride in Your Community and for people to join in showing how the enormous pride that we all have in where we live and our community.

“One of the best ways to do that is to get involved and there are so many ways that people can do that – while we’re suggesting a few I am sure that the community can come up with many more ideas and we’ll do what we can to support these.

“Our Pride in Your Community programme has been a big success with lots of positive outcomes.”
