Old Yellow Pages can now be recycled in blue boxes
With the new 2009/10 Yellow Pages directory currently being delivered, it's easier than ever to recycle the old edition. Now you can put it in your Blue Box and leave at the kerbside for collection.
Telford & Wrekin Council and the Yellow Pages Directory Recycling Scheme are urging households to recycle their old edition as soon as the new copy is delivered. Yellow Pages contain useful local information including contact details for businesses.
Adam Billiard, Environment Manager at Yell, the publisher of Yellow Pages directories, said: "The new edition of the Yellow Pages directory provides useful local information and updated contact details for businesses in Telford and Wrekin. As a business committed to the environment, we encourage everyone to recycle as much as they can, including the old edition of the Yellow Pages directory."
Penny Brasenell, Recycling Officer at Telford & Wrekin Council, said: "Many people are already in the habit of regularly recycling old newspapers, bottles and cans. Over the next few weeks, we are asking residents to recycle one extra item - their old 2008/09 Yellow Pages directory, as it can be easily recycled.
"This is the first year that the Yellow Pages has been able to be left for kerbside collection in Shropshire, making it even easier to recycle the heavy directory, on your doorstep."
